Let’s learn about Ruth.
Ruth had a mother-in-law named Naomi.
She had two sons.
One was married to Ruth
and the other to Orpah.
They all lived together in Moab,
but later both of Naomi’s sons died.
They were all very sad.
Naomi decided
to move back home to Israel.
She thought Jehovah
would take better care of her there.
Ruth and Orpah joined her
because they wanted to help.
So all three of them traveled together.
But at some point in the journey,
Naomi told them
that life with her would be hard.
She told them to go home to their people
and start new families.
Orpah listened and left.
What would Ruth do?
She chose to stick with Naomi.
Ruth said: “Where you go I will go.”
“Your people will be my people,
and your God my God.”
She continued to support
her mother-in-law
as they started
their new life together in Israel.
Ruth was a loyal friend.
Jehovah’s friends always
take care of each other when life gets hard.
