Wait till you see what I’m making.
It’s something that some
of Jehovah’s friends have.
We can’t see these friends, but Elisha did.
C’mon!
He has a great story.
Elisha spent many years learning
from his teacher, Elijah.
But one day,
Elijah was taken away
in a big windstorm
to be a prophet in another location.
Elisha became Jehovah’s new prophet.
He performed many miracles for people,
like when he resurrected a young boy.
Elisha also protected the Israelite army.
He sent a messenger to warn God’s people
of any surprise attacks from Syria.
This angered the king of Syria,
so he sent an army to capture Elisha.
Elisha and his helper
were in big trouble now!
There was no one to help them.
Or was there?
The attendant was terrified,
but Elisha saw something his helper didn’t.
He said: “Do not be afraid!
For there are more who are with us
than those who are with them.”
Elisha prayed,
and suddenly his helper could see
who had been there the whole time
—an army of Jehovah’s angels,
riding fiery chariots!
They were ready to protect Elisha.
Jehovah’s friends know that
his mighty angels are always there to help.
So, what happened to Elisha
and his attendant?
Did they escape the Syrian army?
Read Elisha’s story,
and imagine you were there.
Make time every day
to learn from Jehovah’s friends.
What do you think?
How did Elisha show he was Jehovah’s friend?
When have you been afraid
like Elisha’s attendant?
How can you be confident like Elisha?
